Burtis Jerome Smith

Burtis Jerome Smith was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 29, 1953 to the late William and Onell Smith. He departed this life on September 26, 2019. Burtis was preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister Linda S. Johnson and brother William E. Smith.

Burtis graduated from Westfield High School, Class of 1971. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1972. He worked at Stockham Value, he left here and went on to Vulcan Painter’s Inc where he retired.

He leaves to cherish (4) Sister’s: Darlene (Ronnie) Cockrell of Birmingham, AL; Wanda Hill of Atlanta, GA; Mychell Smith of Birmingham, AL; Vernita Murray of Atlanta, Ga. (1) Brother: Sargent Danny E. (Alena) Smith of Kaiserslautern, Germany (1) Sister-in-Law: Yolanda Smith of Birmingham, Alabama and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
