Alma Jean Rudolph was born June 27, 1936, to the late Atkins and Clealia Lamar in Autaugaville, Alabama. At an early age she confessed to Christ. She joined Madison Chapel A.M.E. Church in Mulberry, Alabama. Later, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she joined 46th Street Baptist Church. She served as a dedicated and faithful member of the Usher Board. She wore many hats, but her greatest joy of all was her being a “door keeper in the house of the Lord” . She was a dedicated employee of the University of Alabama Building Service. After devoting 26 years of faithful service, she retired. She joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Joseph Rudolph, Jr. To this union a son was born, the late Darell Rudolph. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Lakira Wagner; three sisters, Nettie Jolly, Pearl Broadnax and Fannie Mosley and a brother, Edward Lamar. Cherishing her precious memories are: one sister, Mittie Clemons; children, Ula Washington, Arcellia (Angelo) Gordon, Vickie (Lorenza) Smith, Monica (Erwin) Curtis, Ephraim Lamar and Ashley Rudolph; grandchildren, Andwele Lamar, Alashia Gordon, Prince Wagner, Candice Wagner, Angelo Gordon, Jr., Demario Wagner, DeAngelo Jones and DeAngelo Rudolph; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
