Celeste Thompson Obituary

Celeste Thompson was born to the late Taylor Simon Sr. and the late Posey London Simon on September 13, 1929, in Montgomery, Alabama.  She was the youngest of sixteen siblings who all preceded her in death. She was raised by her brother, the late Rev. Calvin Simon, Sr. and wife Ida Ruth Simon in Birmingham, Alabama. 

She was married to the late Miller Larkin and to their union they had one son, Robert Larkin, Sr. She later moved to Chicago, IL where she met and married the late Earnest Thompson.

While in Chicago, IL, she worked as a nursing assistant and later retired after many years in the medical field. After retirement, she moved back to Birmingham, AL and joined Greater New Macedonia Ministries, Inc.She resided with her son and daughter-in-law until her death.

She leaves to mourn: her son, Bishop Robert (Gwen) Larkin, Sr.; three grandchildren, Robert (Stephanie) Larkin, Jr, Reginald (LuWanda) Larkin; and Pamela (Jermain) Frazier; seven great grandchildren, Jamerial, Courtney, Justin, Kimberly, Jaleigh, Reginald Jr. and Jermain Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
