Mother Dorothy Mae Jenkins Hogan was born to the union of the Late Elder John
Howard Jenkins & the Late Mother Cassidney Jenkins on August 3rd, 1952. She was
raised up in the A.O.H Church of God, where her Father served as pastor to many
locations. She began her education in the Birmingham School System, and later
graduated from the Moton High School in Leeds, Alabama. Mother Hogan, as many
affectionately called her, was an honor student, and excelled exceptionally in studies.
Immediately after graduation, she began her career with South Central Bell
(Bellsouth/AT&T) and remained until her retirement 32 years later.
In 1971, Mother Hogan married Mr. Bobby E. Hogan, Sr, and from this union 2 sons
were born: Bobby E. Hogan, Jr., and Jonathan L. Hogan. After a brief sabbatical from the
corporate industry, Mother Hogan re-entered the workforce with Compass Bank (BBVA),
where she remained until her second retirement. Mother Hogan didn’t stop there. She
further enhanced her revelation and knowledge in Christ Jesus with the North Central
College of Theology. Mother Hogan studied and successfully completed courses in
Biblical Studies and received an Associate Degree on May 5th, 2018.
As of September 3rd, 2022, Mother Hogan was appointed and named the “State Mother”
of The Way of Salvation Fellowship of Churches by Apostle Willie E. Sanders, Sr.
Mother Hogan was not just a member, but a sincere trustworthy pioneer of The Joyful
News Family Church and served faithfully in every capacity. She is affectionately known
and loved for her expressive acclaim, “I tell the Lord, Thank Ya”! Through many trials
and tribulations, Mother Hogan always kept the faith, hope and trust in God. She
expressively testified of her overcoming victory of breast cancer two times. God has been
Good!
Mother Hogan was indeed a mother to the Body of Christ and served anywhere, anytime,
and in anyway. She did not only confess Christ but lived a Holy life unto Christ Jesus.
Her life and her works are a testament to her dedicated commitment to Christ. On
Thursday, December 15th, 2022, Mother Hogan inherited a new life from earth to glory.
