Jackie Edwards Obituary

Mr. Jackie D. Edwards, affectionately known by family and friends as “Boo-Boo,” was born on June 26, 1961, to the late Willie Ester Hall and Frank Johnson. Boo-Boo was raised by his grandparents, the late Lettie Jane Edwards (Mrs. Cat) and Allen Cochran.
Boo-Boo was educated in Eutaw, Alabama, Greene County school system. He later relocated to Bessemer, Alabama, and attended the Bessemer City schools system/Jess Lanier High School. While growing up in Bessemer, Alabama, Boo-Boo developed an affinity and a love for exotic cars, blues, clubs, making money, fashion, playing the drums, music, and being an entrepreneur. He was always well-groomed and dressed to impress with bright matching shoes to match his outfits.
Boo-Boo was self-made, independent, and self-sufficient. His independence gained him the ability to become a businessman who owned several restaurants, a car wash, a store, and a club (Disco 9000) which he loved immensely. After mastering the business industry, he later began promoting blues shows. With Boo-Boo’s love for blues and his unwavering personality, he was able to develop and foster relationships with several blues artists.
After closing Disco 9000, Boo-Boo decided to open a (mobile) business known as Boo’s Fashion which consisted of him selling clothes, shoes, hats, and CDs. Boo-Boo’s mobile fashion business was located at the Bessemer Flea Market, Eutaw, Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, Alabama, Five Points West, Flea Markets, Fairs, Blues Shows, May Days, and the Magic City Classic.
Boo-Boo was kind-hearted, generous, and never met a stranger. He was loved by his family, children, and friends.
Boo-Boo leaves to cherish his most fond memories: his sons, TyQuindez Richey, Jaxon Edwards, Jordan Edwards, Jahqualen Edwards, Jalen Edwards, Jakhil Edwards, Jakhari Edwards, and Isaiah Farrow; daughters, Monica Davis, Monique Davis, Ashley Edwards, Shirley Edwards, and Alexus Farrow; sisters, Dionne T. Hall, DeAnne Rene Hall, and Dywanna Lynn Hall; brothers, Bernay Johnson (Shelia Johnson) and Demarco Edwards; loving and devoted best friend, Richard Skeet Davis; special cousin whom he loved unconditionally, Tamike Kyles (Meka); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
