Kirby Ike Carlisle was born on October 16, 1957 to Betty and Robert Thomas in Birmingham, Alabama. Kirby was a gentle giant who was loved by many.

He departed his earthly life on Sunday, June 14, 2020 surrounded by his family, whom loved him dearly.

Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Robert Thomas, sisters: Sandy Grier and Robin Lawson and his son, Kenyon Berry.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving and devoted wife; Wanda Carlisle, daughter: Kenyardia (Jaymel) Mabry, sons: Darius (Nesha) Gurley and Robert (Resha) Gurley, brothers: Stevie Thomas (Lynn), Stacey (Sonya) Carlisle, Keith Thomas and sister, Rosalind Simpson, grandchildren: Kemia, Aniyah, Ethan Mabry, Kenyon Jr., DeMarco, Raijanae, and Robert Gurley. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
