Phyllis Garris was born on September 17, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama to Vera 
Reed and Tommy Nelson. 
She attended Hayes High School. 
Phyllis was united in holy matrimony to Joe Garris. 
 
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband, Joe Garris, 
(2) daughters: Consuelo Garris and Syreeta Garris, grandchildren: Santana Garris, 
Darrell Garris, Aquil Baha, and Kahlen Garris, 1 great granddaughter: Dakota Hill, 
(3) brothers: John Reed, Timothy Reed and Antione Reed, a host of nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends.
